Product Description

Water bath heaters are specialized heating devices designed to meet the specific needs of oil fields. They are primarily used in oil and gas gathering and transportation systems to heat crude oil and natural gas to the required process temperature for transportation, settling, separation, dehydration, and primary processing. They feature a wide variety of models and configurations, compact structure, complete functionality, and wide applicability, making them ideal heating equipment.
A water bath heater is an indirect heating device that uses water as a heat transfer medium, as shown in Figure 5-21. It consists of a shell, fire tubes, coils, and other accessories. The coils and inlet/outlet points are sealed with packing, and tightness is adjusted by the packing gland. Water is added to the heater through a water tank; the internal pressure (shell-side pressure) of the water bath heater is atmospheric pressure. A thermometer well is welded onto the water bath heater shell, and a water level gauge is installed to control the operation. The water bath heater shell is supported by saddle supports, and refractory insulation is applied to the shell.

Water Bath Heater Heating Principle
Water bath heater heating principle: After natural gas burns in the fire tube, the heat generated is transferred to the water in the water jacket through radiation and convection, raising the water temperature. The water then transfers the heat to the crude oil in the oil coils, raising the oil temperature.

Water bath heaters are classified into slightly positive pressure and negative pressure types based on combustion method:
1. Slightly positive pressure combustion water bath heater. A blower forces air into the furnace, and an automatic program ignition and flameout protection device is equipped. Most use a combination of straight or straight and corrugated fire tubes and spiral grooves, with removable spiral groove U-tube bundles. Advantages: High thermal efficiency, compact structure, low steel consumption.
2. Negative pressure combustion water bath heater. Negative pressure combustion means that the combustion air is naturally aspirated, and the fire tube and flue tube use a U-shape or similar structure. Advantages: Simple structure, strong adaptability, good sealing effect.
3. Other classifications: By fuel (natural gas, coal gas, coal powder, oil-fired water bath heaters)
4. Outdoor placement, installation of a matching automatic combustion control system, simple and compact structure, small footprint, easy to relocate, and quick installation and commissioning;
5. Features automatic ignition, flameout, automatic gas shutoff, and automatic water temperature control, making operation and maintenance convenient;
6. Uses slightly positive pressure combustion burner, resulting in higher thermal efficiency;
7. Forced ventilation for 2-3 minutes before burner ignition, and automatic gas shutoff after flameout, preventing dangerous backfires and ensuring high safety.
